About Coach

Growing up in Detroit, MI, I enjoyed participating in team sports during high school, such as basketball, softball, and my favorite…volleyball. After college, I moved to Chicago, IL, where I continued to play volleyball in co-ed recreational leagues and on the Lake Michigan beachfront. Over the years, I’ve participated in many trendy gym classes, including step aerobics, spinning, Pilates, and yoga. Then, in 2015, a family member introduced me to CrossFit, and I immediately enjoyed the variety of movements in each workout of the day (WOD). In CrossFit, you have the opportunity to learn and progress through movements as you grow stronger, and you’re supported by an amazing community throughout your journey.

Turning Point

I believe the term “work-life balance” is misleading. During my time in Chicago, I had the privilege of holding leadership roles in the IT industry, where I guided teams through transformative projects and innovations. While my career was fulfilling, it also brought significant demands and stress, and I always envisioned having a family. After my daughter and son were born, my responsibilities expanded even further. At that stage, the idea of “balance” felt out of reach. I realized I needed to regain control of my schedule, acknowledging that the demands of career and family ebb and flow, but I needed to prioritize time for me. Carving out time for exercise became essential for my health and mental well-being. I wanted to be the best version of myself for my employer, my team, my family, and for me. That meant making regular exercise a priority. Though I don’t think true “balance” is achievable, prioritizing exercise offers lifelong benefits that help us face life’s challenges.

Motivation & Passion

My purpose for coaching CrossFit is to help individuals reach their fitness goals and build a supportive community. I’m particularly passionate about working with beginners and those looking to regain their strength and confidence through functional fitness. My focus is on creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, no matter their starting point. My motivation for coaching comes from my own experiences in fitness. I’ve seen how CrossFit can improve physical health and mental resilience. I want to share that with others, helping them overcome challenges and celebrate their progress along the way. If you’re looking for a coach who is dedicated to your growth and committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere, I’d be excited to help you on your fitness journey. Together, we can set realistic goals and achieve meaningful results.
