About Coach

Growing up in Northern Virginia, I was constantly enrolled in sports because I had seemingly endless energy. It all started with gymnastics when I was 3 years old, so naturally, I love all the gymnastics movements in CrossFit. I quit when I was about 10 and moved on to soccer and swimming for a few years before lacrosse became my main sport. I was on the Varsity team freshman through senior year and I was a captain in my junior and senior years. I was also on travel teams, so I was playing year-round. After high school, I went to George Mason University where I earned a BA with a major in photography. I took quite a hiatus from team sports and worked out on my own at home, focusing mostly on bodyweight or lightweight dumbbell exercises. I knew something was missing but couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was, until I started CrossFit in April 2024. What was missing was community, camaraderie, and competition.

Turning Point

My turning point was a little over a year after moving down to Cape Coral from Myrtle Beach. I had been a stay-at-home mom for 6 years and I still didn’t have many friends in the area. I was also really tired of going through an endless cycle of working out, seeing results, stopping because I was content, and then going back to unhealthy eating and not working out. It was exhausting. I started looking into global gyms, but that seemed too intimidating. As I was trying to find an adult sports league or anything to fill that competitive part of me, a friend informed me about CrossFit. I was told that there were gymnastics movements like rope climbs (I had been itching to climb a rope for years) and the workouts were all programmed so I didn’t have to plan any of that myself- I was sold. I was still nervous when I attended my first class, I had never done a group workout like that and the athletes in my class were so strong- it was intimidating. But I kept showing up and working hard, and now I can’t imagine skipping a class.
